Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer, and songwriter for many years. Sara Ramirez was brought up with her American mother. She was subjected to a variety of racist taunts and caused her to feel uncomfortable. If she attended an event at school and was given high praise for her singing, in ninth grade the young girl started to feel more confident. It not only increased her confidence but her dreams were changed. She attended New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23, her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail were both her big break. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot she portrayed the role of Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more recognition. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she released a solo and an extended piece. In her role as an activist, she is a tireless advocate in the cause of LGBT equality.
